Sugar and Spice....

All the months of sickness, and putting on 28 LBS in 18 weeks was all worth it for that ultrasound which has to be the coolest thing I've ever seen.

Brent was like a deer in the headlights looking at the screen, it finally became very real. It was awesome.

It's official, we're having a girl! Is it weird to post my ultrasound pictures? I don't think it's as bad as the woman who posted her art made with the placenta.

I think these are the most beautiful picutres, I can't stop looking at them!

In the first one she's looking right at us, you can see her skull and eyeballs.
The second is a profile shot, she's opening her mouth, and in the last you can see her little arms, hands and legs.

Now it's coming up with a name, this little site proved some help- baby name genie.

Crystal- I thought about creating a hyperlink to the placenta art, but I didn't want to be held accountable for subjecting others to the images!

Bechtold- Thanks! I'm getting more and more excited about a girl.

CONGRATS! (I kept lurking yesterday to see how the big US went.) Girls are so delightful and wonderful and amazing and confusing and precious. I am so glad everything looks healthy and good.

It is a miracle isnt' it?!

I know you don't do Princesses, will you do pink?

No Pink- we're actually planning on painting the Nursery a light blue and doing Winnie the Pooh- (we'd go with yellow, but since we're not going to live in this house forever, we decided blue wsa a safer choice) I'd really like to go with the retro pooh, but it's hard to find (and a bit pricey)

No barbies, no princesses, and I think all of her dolls are going to be 'multi-cultural'

But you will let her wear a onsie that says "Brat" right?

Congratulations!

Congrats!!! YAY! It is so awesome to see those pics and really connect with your baby! :D

By the way...I love retro Pooh! That's what we did for B...you can find a lot of it at Babies R Us...at least you could 6 years ago! LOL! Have fun doing the room! Now the fun begins because you can start picturing all the stuff you want her to have! :)

Brent & Kory, congrats! I can only guess as to how mesmerizing those pictures are. Very, very exciting for you guys, woo hoo!

Good luck with the name thing. That can be tricky.

I might be jealous!

Congrats!

Ultrasounds are really cool. My Mister couldn't come to the one for our last baby, so my mom came with me- she hadn't seen one before and was mesmerized.

Dang for making me want another one- start talking about morning sickness, or weird pains or something!

Alice is a nice name for a girl.

Babies are awesome! Even when they're all scrunched up in utero. Congrats on the gender news :)

We went with basically a retro pooh color for our nursery and K insisted on this cloud wallpaper on the ceiling! It looks very babyish, but we don't yet know what we are having. I think we will find out in a couple weeks. What is your due date? I feel like you and K are almost on the same track!

Kors- my mom is an artist and I bet she'd be happy to paint something "retro Pooh" for you. If you see a print you would like on canvas, send me the link. She's pretty good at copying art.

Great ultrasound pictures! I can even tell what they are...which is saying a lot. Girls are very very fun. Congrats!

You crack me up---placenta art! hee hee. Congrats! I got a good solution for girl names. Just think of all of the names you had in mind for a boy and put an "etta" at the end of it. It truly works...try it. Henryetta, Pauletta, Chrisetta--okay so that one doesn't work that well, but you get the point. :)

YAY! I'm so happy for you! Girls are the best and now you get to prepare even more knowing it's a girl. You're 1/2 way there...keep up the good work :)

Yay, a girl! It's so much easier to find cute girl clothes than boy clothes, and there's usually enough of them that they go on sale (although I've heard girls will cost you more in the long run).

And don't even sweat the 28 pounds already. I gained most of my weight early on and even though I gained 35 overall, it was all gone within three months.
