Baby Bribe

My first OB measured the fetus in the early months and moved my due date from Jan 14 to Jan 7th. That meant we could induce on December 30th to get the tax break from Uncle Sam. However, I didn't like that OB- so I switched and though the new OB is wonderful, he goes strictly by the calendar- keeping my due date Jan 14th, hence the earliest I can induce is Jan. 7th.

Yesterday we promised the baby a pony if she comes out before 2009. I figured if I put it on the blog with the 6 of you as witnesses- she'll know we're serious. She's got approximately 12 hours to claim her pony- then all deals are off.

That's a pretty nice pony. I hope she realizes this may be her only chance at getting a real poly in her life!

That is fun but I would say baby booher is going to miss out on a pony.

How about including a mighty fine car for her when she turns 16 and a cruise with her friends when she graduates from high school? Go for the whole thing.

I was beginning to wonder. The same thing happened to us, original date (1/29) and then they moved it up 7 days, only to have the doctor say it is still the 29th?!?

These things are already taking advantage of us! haha. Good luck and know that we are right behind you!!!!

So, is the kid taking the offer at all? At least negotiating, ya know, giving you some promising signs?

I would TOTALLY come out of the womb for a pony. Come on baby! Take the bribe!

My Dr. used to say, "That which got you into this mess, may get you out..." Worked 4 times for me! ;)

Nothing worked for me ever, my kids were always a week late. (*Induced a week late-except my last, he was so big, that my dr. took pity on me and induced me three days late.)

*pitocin with the first, and breaking my water with the other two- much preferable if you're already contracting somewhat, pitocin is no fun- although if you get the epidural, you'll never really notice...

Happy New Year you gorgeous gal with the pregnant glow. We're driving down to Carlsbad tomorrow to see a few Welches.

voice of experience: inducing with pitocin is no fun, but neither is having your first baby 3 weeks past due date. Go with your Dr's advice, but only up to a point.

never believe what a dr will tell ya. just leads to dispntment. was induced week early on first two. all through last one was told- NO PROB will induce you a week early on this one. FOR SURE! Planned with work, etc. well two week prior to the induction day doctor said...um no doesnt look like that will be possible...soooo lets just see how it goes. I delievered on my OWN almost 2 weeks AFTER expected induction date!!! Talk about expectations. Its best not to have them I say. I was one unhappy prego woman - and that is a serious understatement. :)
go with the flow is my new motto...good luck!

Kory we are so excited for you. Just so you know it is so much easer to let the baby come on her own than to induce. Let us know when the happy day happens.
