Aaaahhhh...the day the media compared Reagan to Obama and tried to make Obama look better (or more "progressive" which is actually a nice word for "flaming liberal"). . . What is this nation and its media coming to????

Salt H2O said...

I don't mind the media comparing Obama to Reagan, but calling Obama "God"?

Seriously. God. He's like God.

ARRRGGHGHH!

Poor choice of words, but hardly anything inflammatory. Kind of a dumb analogy, since he could have used other examples, although I think there are a lot of people in this country that think ONLY God is above Reagan, hahaha. Obama IS shaping up as the Democratic version of Reagan in the world view.

Steve-
You can't rationalize this one, the editor of Newsweek said Obama is like God.

Is there any comparison that could be more inflamitory? He said Obama is like Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the redeemer of the world, GOD.

This reveals a great deal about the press core- how on earth could they critise a man they compare to God?

I bet Obama himself thinks he's like God.

Mike, just another example of how Obama is like W. right? ;)

adam-
Classic Obama supporter retort to crticism, you're taking a page out of old Gibb's book.

When faced with legitimate critism, deflect to George W.

Did the whole press corp take a poll that had the question, "Is Obama God?" Yes or No?

I still think you are making a mountain out of a rolling hill, haha.

Besides, all this talk of the "liberal" media and how it is "biased", then please point to any media that isn't biased?!?! Leaning to the right ala Rush, very heavily, no pun intended, and Fox doesn't make it unbiased.

This is like the oldest complaint since the written word was invented! If you don't like what you read and hear, stop reading and watching!!!

Steve,
What kind of person would I be if I only watched or listened to people I agree with? You and I would never talk! What a terribly boring world that would be.

Steve said...

:) I know, that would make me sad.

I do agree we ALL should watch "the other channel" every so often to see the other side. And I back that up by watching Fox for laughs, but usually have to turn the channel after about five minutes due to Sheppard Smith's clowny blush color and his eye liner and the fact that I keep waiting for them to get to some actual news. Not that CNN doesn't spend half their hours on non-news stories. :( CNN hasn't been good since Ted Turner left, ho hum. It is also why I prefer international news b/c they don't have the time (ie budgets and coporate sponsors) to waste time talking about anything other than the news. Plus, it puts our "news" into perspective.

There's two kinds of listening, watching or reading those we don't agree with.

There's listening to only affirm our pre-existing biases.

There's actually listening/watching/reading those you don't agree with and then evaluating the argument and deciding whether or not you agree or disagree.

To me, they are very different.

Sherpa, on this account you're absolutely right- and I must admit, I watched this clip with the pre-existed bias that Obama is in no way, no how like God. :)

ah. Ugh.

Different topic, but did you see this?
http://abclocal.go.com/kgo/video?id=6833520 It makes me insane.

Sally said...

I should clarify: what makes me insane is that they refuse to notify the parents which day they will be teaching the curriculum, so the parents have no way of being able to keep their kids home from school that day. It also makes me insane (insanely mad) because the curriculum ONLY talks about LGBT issues and not race, religion, etc. That's WRONG.

Actually, I think he's right. Obama is "the God of this world".

Sally, good point, but I think that isn't a different topic. The philosophy behind community organizing is that it's NOT done by parents, but by a community ... a village ... parent's have no individual rights. Children are owned by the state. That's why parents have no right to know what thier kids are being taught.
